Project
Management for IT Systems
The object of this course
is to give the participating students practical leadership
experience in projects with the objective of development and
management of IT systems with focus on complex Web Application
Systems (WAS), in concern of modern object-oriented programming
development and (either or both) development, configuration
and implementation of runtime systems . The project work is
method-based on the concept of RUP ( Rational Unified Process
).
Graduated students, who participate
in this course, will act as project leaders in project groups
with members of under graduated students with adequate technical
skills.
Size of project team is about 6-12 members. The order of the
project task might be an external company or institution.
There are two tracks to be followed within this course. The
first one is to theoretically learn and understand the project
process in sense of phases, planning, metrics, artifacts,
tools and so on. The second one is to put into practice those
theories in a real project work with a real project group
with a real task to complete.
Learning
of project theory and practical project work is performed
in parallel.
