The objective of the course is to provide students of the Masters Program-Engineering and
Management of Information Systems with an overview of research methodology and report
writing. This overview will enable the students to make informed choices concerning the
planning and writing of their Masters theses. The course will provide an brief orientation in the following subjects:

Principles of science
Scientific approaches and methods
Problem formulation
Thesis structure, language and grammar
Finding and using literature
